For the first time in forever my makeup looked perf… and for the first time ever I filled in my lips completely to their natural form without leaving the lines. AWESOME!
In all actuality, I prefer my 3$ ELF Cream Liner to Fluideline. Atleast with the ELF, I have a few minute time frame to set it before it smudges. MAC smudges within seconds. Also, even if you do set it quick enough, it looks even more like a streaky mess than it did before you set it (which was really pretty bad, so that saying something) because it gloops up when you put liquid liner over it and matte shadow just makes it look like you did it in the dark because it fades the liner so badly. And it’s already sheer and streaky on it’s own! Ugh. I payed for blacktrack, not shittygreytack.
After much debating over which two I could get (I only had enough spare cash for two - they’re 9.99$ at Shoppers Drug Mart!), I decided on 100-Barely Beige and 400-Rich Mahogany. Gold Shimmer looked a bit too similar to Bad To The Bronze, and the swatches for Mossy Green seemed the least impressive and least wearable for me - I love to think I wear green all the time, but I really don’t.
First impression? Barely Beige is very similar in performance, blendibility and texture to Bad To The Bronze, and while Rich Mahogany has the same texture, it’s a bit more slippery so you almost have to let it set for a few seconds before blending to even coverage. Weird! Love both colours though, look very similar to shadows I wear daily and I know I’ll get tons of use out of them!

NEW Maybelline Dream Fresh BB in Light
Cost - $10.49
One of the many new Summer Drugstore products starting to pop up in North America, Maybelline became the first drugstore brand to offer a beauty balm with more than three shades - light orange, medium orange, or oompa loompa. Their shade range offers a very light shade, a light medium, medium, medium dark, and dark shade all containing SPF 30. So far, it seems to only have popped up in Canada and across the ocean , but is expected to be available in the USA soon.
Maybelline claims that it is a :
8-in-1 Skin Perfector:
* Blurs imperfections
* Brightens
* Evens skin-tone
* Smoothes
* Hydrates
* Enhances
* Protects with SPF 30
* Oil-Free
I think that all of the claims ring true, except “enhances”. Just… what even Maybelline. Stop it.
This BB cream is more watery/gel based than creamy, which feels very light and refreshing for the Summer while also hydrating and giving your skin a smooth appearance. It’s actually quite pleasant, to be honest, and gives a fair amount of coverage considering how light it is. This is a great option for acne prone skin, as it is OIL FREE! It really does a good job of evening out skin and blurring out redness, but does still require some light concealer for optimal coverage. It’s water/gel formula gives off a very dewy glow, and it you set it with powder it won’t ever really be fully matte. I would say that set with powder, it’s very satin looking instead of dewy without powder.
For the smell, it has this really odd paint like smell. Not paint you would paint your walls with, not toxic fumes, but similar to acrylic or oil paints. It’s so weird, and it lingers for a while, but eventually fades.
I spotted this initially, in Canada, at both Jean Coutu and Walmart two weeks ago. It might be now available elsewhere, though I’m not sure. If you spot it and are interested, I suggest picking it up in your shade right away, and they’re selling out quick. The display, like many foundation displays lately, has little sample bottles to help match you to your shade which is super helpful. If you’re a dark skinned, light skinned, or acne prone beauty interested in BB Cream, I definitely recommend checking this out!
Honestly such a piece of shit. I was expecting Petal Pusher to be as pigmented as Comfort Zone, and I was very mistaken. Literally the only shade with decent pigmentation is the bottom right definer and I hate black sparkly shades so this is just pointless in my life. Also, the top left highlight is one of those deceiving I-look-white-but-turn-out-pink-duochrome. SMH.
